9 mm Crochet hook
Large Eye Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Pearl purse strap: Optional found on Amazon
Mermaid Patch: Optional found on Amazon
Crochet Terms:
Ch- Chain
Ch 1- Chain one
SC- Single Crochet
BL- Back Loop
Sl St- Slip Stitch
FO- Fasten off
Start of Purse:
Row 1: Ch 21, SC in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, ch 1, turn. (20)
Row 2: SC in BL in each stitch across, ch 1 turn. (20)
Rows 3-18: Repeat row 2. At the end of row 18, do not fasten off, fold in half and sl st both short side together, FO, weave in ends. (20)
Reattach yarn to bottom of opposite side and sl st short sides together, do not fasten off, Turn right side facing out,
Round 1:Ch 1, SC 20 evenly around, this will give it the shell shape by cinching slightly. (20)
Round 2: Ch 1, SC in each st, around, sl st to 1st SC. (20)
Round 3: Ch 1, 2SC in same stitch, 1 SC next 9, 2SC in next, 1 SC in remaining stitches, sl st to 1st SC, FO, weave in ends. Add purse strap or other decor for finishing touches. (22)
