10 mm (N) Hook
6.50 mm (K) Hook
2 Skeins Lion brand wool ease thick and quick in Carousel
1 skein Go for Faux in Pink Poodle
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Optional: Aglets you can find them on Amazon.
Optional: Backpack strap or Purse strap.

Using main yarn and N Hook.
Row 1: Ch 21, SC in 2nd Ch from hook and each ch across, ch 1 turn. (20)
Row 2: SC in each stitch across, ch 1, turn. (20)
Row 3-16: Repeat row 2. (20)
Row 17: SCDEC, SC in next 16 stitches, SCDEC, ch 1, turn. (18)
Row 18: SCDEC, SC in next 14 stitches, SCDEC, ch 1, turn. (16)
Row 19: SCDEC, SC in next 12 stitches, SCDEC, ch 1, turn. (14)
Row 20: SCDEC, SC in next 10 stitches, SCDEC, ch 1, turn. (12)
Row 21: SC in 1st 2 stitches, Ch 2, sk 2, SC in next stitch, Ch 2, sk 2, SC in next stitch, ch 2, sk 2, SC in last 2 stitches, Ch 1, turn. (12) Counts Ch’s.
Row 22: 2SC in same stitch, SC in next, 2SC in ch2sp, SC in next, 2SC in ch2sp, SC in next, 2SC in ch2sp, SC in next, 2SC in last, ch 1, turn. (14)
Row 23: 2SC in same stitch, SC in next 12 stitches, 2SC in last, ch 1, turn. (16)

Row 25: SC in each stitch across, FO, weave in ends.
Heart Applique Pocket:
Using Fur yarn and N Hook.
Row 1: Ch 2, 2SC in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn. (2)
Row 2: 2SC, 2SC, ch 1, turn. (4)
Row 3: 2SC in same stitch, SC in next 2 stitches, 2SC in last, ch 1, turn. (6)
Row 4: 2SC in same stitch, SC in next 4 stitches, 2SC in last, ch 1, turn. (8)
Row 5: 2SC in same stitch, SC in next 6 stitches, 2SC in last, ch 1, turn. (10)
Row 6: SC in each stitch across, ch 1, turn. (10)
Row 7: SC in each stitch across, ch 1, turn. (10)
Row 8: SC in same stitch and next 3 stitches, sl st in next 2 stitches, SC in next 4 stitches, ch 1, turn. (10)
Row 9: SCDEC, SC in next 2, sl st in next 2, SC in next 2, SCDEC, ch 1, turn. (8)
Row 10: SCDEC, SC in next, sl st in next 2 stitches, SC in next, SCDEC, FO, leaving a long tail to sew onto front of 1st Panel. (6)
Attaching 2 Panels:
Using main yarn and N Hook.
With right sides of panels facing each other and wrong sides facing out, reattach yarn to top left corner, sl st both panels together, ch 1, SC in same space, continue to SC panels together around entire backpack until top right corner, FO, weave in ends.
Turn backpack right side facing out and using Fur yarn, reattach yarn to top right corner and SC around entire top of backpack opening, FO, weave in ends.
Drawstring:
Using main yarn and N hook.
Ch 61, FO, add aglets to ends of drawstring if desired, then weave drawstring through 2 back loops and 2 front loops where ch2sp openings are.
Backpack Strap Option:
Using main yarn and K Hook.
Reattach yarn 5 stitches in from the right below ch2sp rows and SC around post stitch which is the post between 5th and 6th stitches, SC around next 3 post stitches, Ch 1, turn. (4)
Row 2-3: SC in each stitch across, ch 1, turn. (4)
Row 4-46: (1st strap) SC in same stitch and next, ch 1, turn. (2) When you get to row 46, FO, leaving a long tail to sew strap to the bottom of the backpack. **Optional if wanting a snugger fitting backpack do 10 less rows and stop at row 36 for both straps.**
(Second Strap)
Reattach yarn to 1st SC on right, SC in next stitch, ch 1, turn. (2)
Row 5-46: SC in same stitch and next, ch 1, turn. (2) When you get to row 46, FO, leaving a long tail to sew to the bottom of the backpack.
Purse Strap Option:
Using Fur yarn and N Hook.
With Fur Yarn reattach yarn to top right side of opening of backpack, Ch 31, Sl st in 2nd ch from hook and each ch down, FO, weave in ends. Cut long piece of fur yarn, and using tapestry needle sew purse strap to opposite side of opening directly across from where strap started.
