Materials:
Worsted Weight Yarn (4) in White, Pink, and Purple.
6.00 mm Hook (J)
4.25 or 4.50 mm hook (G)
2 Small Black buttons for eyes.
Large eye tapestry needle
Crochet Terms:
MC- Magic Circle
SC – Single crochet.
HDC- Half Double Crochet.
DC- Double Crochet
Sl St – Slip stitch.
Ch 1 – Chain 1.
FO- Fasten Off.
Pattern difficulty:
Easy, Beginner.
Purse Body:
J Hook and White yarn.
Purse is worked from bottom to top.
Start with MC
Row 1: Ch 1, 12 HDC in MC, sl st to top of 1st HDC. (12)
Row 2: Ch 1, 2 HDC in each stitch around, sl st to top of 1st HDC. (24)
Row 3: Ch 1, 2 HDC in same stitch, 1 HDC in next, 2 HDC in next, 1 HDC in next, repeat around, sl st to top of 1st HDC. (36)
Row 4: Ch 1, HDC in same stitch and each stitch around, sl st to top of 1st HDC. (36)
Row 5-14: Repeat row 4. (36)
Row 15: Ch 1, SC in same stitch and each stitch around, sl st to top of 1st SC. (36) Do not fasten off.
Ch 51, HDC in 2nd stitch from hook and in each stitch down, sl st to 2nd SC to the left of where ch started, FO. (50)
Sew other side to opposite side of purse, making sure it’s straight across from opposite side.
**Another option for strap would be Foundation SC doing same number of stitches as stated in pattern and Slip Stitching to opposite side**FO, weave in ends.
Edits for longer strap:
Ch 51 for Baby/Toddler as written in pattern above.
Ch 61 for Small child
Ch 71 for older child
Outer Ears: (Make 2)
Using White Yarn and J hook.
Ch 11, DC in 2nd stitch from hook, DC in the next 8, 5 DC in last stitch, do not turn, continue working down opposite side, DC in the next 9 ch stitches, FO, leaving long tail to sew onto purse.
Inner Ears: (Make 2)
Using Pink Yarn and G hook
Ch 11, HDC in 2nd stitch from hook, HDC in the next 8, 5 HDC in last stitch, do not turn, continue working down opposite side, HDC in the next 9 ch stitches, FO, leaving long tail to sew onto outer Ears. For placement of inner ears and where to place them on the purse refer to picture above.
Cheeks: (Make 2)
Using White yarn and J hook
MC, Ch 2, 9 DC in MC, sl st to 1st DC,
FO, leaving long tail to sew onto purse. For placement of cheeks refer to picture above.
Nose:
Using Pink Yarn and G hook
MC, Ch 1, 5 HDC, 1 DC, 5 HDC, sl st to 1st HDC, FO, leaving long tail to sew on top of cheeks and purse. For placement of nose refer to picture above. **DC point is the bottom of the nose.**
Bow:
With Purple Yarn and J hook
Row 1: Ch 9, HDC in 2nd stitch from hook and the next 7 ch stitches, ch 1 turn. (8)
Row 2: HDC in the next 8 stitches, ch 1, continue to SC around adding 2 SC in each corner, sl st to 1st SC. (8)
For placement of bow refer to picture above. You may also place the bow to the side or even make two bows for both ears.
Eyes:
2 Small or large black buttons whichever is your preference. Sew them on with needle and white thread on row 10 about 1 inch apart. For placement reference see picture above.
