Ready for Spring Scarf

Materials:
1 skein Lion Brand Mandala Yarn (3) For just the scarf
2 skeins if adding the tassels
336-400 yards
5.5 mm hook (I)
Tapestry Needle
Measuring Tape
Crochet Terms:
Ch- Chain
Ch 1- Chain one
Ch 3- Chain three, Counts as DC throughout pattern.
SC- Single Crochet
SK- Skip
St- Stitch
Mini Heart Puff Stitch- Puff stitch, Chain 1, Puff stitch in same stitch.
HDC- Half Double Crochet
HDC3rdLOOP- Half Double Crochet in the 3rd loop which in this pattern the 3rd loop of previous hdc will be facing you, below is a video to help.
DC- Double Crochet
FO- Fasten off
Special Stitches:
Heart Puff Stitch -Yarn over (yo), insert hook into designated st, yo, pull up a loop, repeat this until you have 5 loops on your hook, yo and pull through all 5 loops, ch 1. Repeat steps for second part of heart puff st, but DO NOT ch 1 after 2nd puff st.
Start of Scarf:
Row 1: Ch 168, SC in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, ch 3 turn. (167) *Chain 3 counts as DC throughout pattern.**
Row 2: Sk joining st and next st, DC in next, ch 1, sk next st, DC in next, Repeat across, DC in last st, ch 1, turn. (167) Includes DC and Ch 1 spaces.
Row 3: HDC in each stitch and ch 1 space across, ch 1, turn. (167)
Row 4: HDC3rdLOOP in each stitch across, ch 3, turn. (167)
Row 5: Sk joining stitch and next st, HPS in next, sk next 2 stitches, HPS in next, sk next 2 stitches, HPS in next, repeat across, until 2 stitches remaining sk 1 and DC in last st, ch 1, turn. (164) Includes Ch 1 spaces.
Row 6-7: Repeat row 3. (167)
Row 8: Repeat row 4. (167)
Row 9: Repeat row 5. (164)
Row 10-11: Repeat row 3. (167)
Row 12: Repeat row 4. (167)
Row 13: Repeat row 5. (164)
Row 14-15: Repeat row 3. (167)
Row 16: Repeat row 4. (167)
Row 17: Repeat row 5. (164)
Row 18-19: Repeat row 3. (167)
Row 20: Repeat row 4. (167)
Row 21: Sk joining st and next st, DC in next, ch 1, sk next st, DC in next, Repeat across, DC in last st, ch 1, turn. (167) Includes DC and Ch 1 spaces.
Row 22: SC in each stitch and ch 1 space across, FO, weave in ends.
Tassels: Optional
Cut 24 strands of yarn 20 inches long and use 12 strands for each end of scarf.
Cinch ends before adding tassels by weaving yarn with tapestry needle every inch across edge of short end of scarf.
